We Bought A House. Yup.

So, given how much I blogged and blogged last year, you would think I would have blogged about this momentous occasion by now, but no…instead I daydream about sitting in some bar furniture in Cabo San Lucas with my husband next to me and a margarita in my hand.

Instead, I have had more boxes than I can imagine in my hands and the only furniture I have sat on has been my own. I want a vacation. Not getting one anytime soon though because we BOUGHT A HOUSE.
Holy crap.

And you know what guys? There is NO RETURN POLICY. All sales final.

OHMYGOSHWHATAREWEGOINGTODO?! And the answer is nothing. And I hope this feeling passes like soon, because I hate to be awake at night second guessing our decision to become homeowners.

I had this CRAZY idea that once we moved in, I’d start removing popcorn ceilings, painting walls, replacing floors and that I’d have my perfect home by Christmas.

I am obviously crazy. But this isn’t news, is it?

So for now, I am updating all of you lovely people that yes, we bought a home. No, I haven’t done anything fabulous to it. In fact, we have so many big ass boxes from our washer, dryer and fridge in the garage that we can’t park in it. I also have like 3 boxes that need to be unpacked in the living room that I ignore while munching on 100 calorie packs and watching my TV shows.

Clearly I have priorities.

But, I do have something great for you. Yes, you. In honor of my big purchase, I want to share with you all a lovely $45 gift certificate to CSN Stores. How can it be yours? It’s simple!

You have 5* ways of entering. Please read all the details to make sure your entries count.

1.) Go over to http://www.csnstores.com/ and tell me which item would make you feel like you were on a vacation in your own home. (I need ideas!) Leave me a link to the item with your comment.

6.) Not a follower? Become a follower for a bonus entry!

Ready? Set? Go!
Winner will be announced Friday, November 5th at 1 pm CST. Tonight I am determined to get those 3 boxes unpacked. Maybe.

Homeowner advice: Make sure you keep up with maintenence. If you regularly get your a/c serviced, powerwash siding, etc., clean windows, keep gutters clean, and all that not-so-fun stuff it will pay off in the end!

Candles can do a lot to make your home spell and look like paradise. Pick a tropical scent, make a margarita, and off you go!

Best advice – make the house your own with photos of family, places you've been, and change wall colors to ones that you love.

For me, being on vacation is about relaxing and being outside (since I can't at work). To combine that I would LOVE in my home an outdoor bar set, pref. one that came with a free bartender, but until that happens I do like these tall back outdoor barstools. When I entertain I like to chat, and if a guest is uncomfortable and can't lean back to relax (and or drink without the risk of falling) that's no good. So yeah – these for me PLEASE!http://www.csnstores.com/NAPLES-4030-X-FIR1085.html

My best advice for homeownership: Be realistic in project distribution. Do 1-2 "bigger" projects a year and then fill in time with the smaller ones. Prioritize them because while I may hate the color of our bedroom, it is not something guests will see, so the living room ranks higher. It helps decrease the stress of MUST GET THIS DONE.

Q5 is SUPER EASY! You should come visit ME! Baby L hasn't actually "met" you. Heard your voice, Go shopping through the tummy, gone to NYC SURE, but she hasn't been allowed to paw at you yet. And I am sure she would LOVE to chat it up with her Auntie Monica. <3 Plus Mommy misses her Monica too – it's been almost a whole year (less a few days)!!

To make my home feel like paradise? This is a VERY hard question with an almost 8m old, cat, 2 dogs, and a husband because my house is FOREVER a mess and cluttered with everything. 🙁 So I guess for me, it would be having a full clean out. Like professionals coming and hulling away the things I can't make myself let go and just get rid of it. Once it is clean and organized looking I always feel so much better about my home; and then it gets destroyed 2 days later. Can I add a personal maid service in my request? THANKS!

I don't own a home, but I would say that painting is the quickest and cheapest way to make you feel like your home reflects you and your tastes.

A comfortable leather club chair and ottoman would make me feel as if I were on vacation (although I wouldn't take a vacation only to sit in a chair the whole time)! Thanks for the giveaway!eemoody77 at gmail dot comhttp://www.csnstores.com/Loft-Concept-232936-PD1339.html
