Vanilla Latte Recipe using Simply Pure Creamer

As you all know, on February 21 of this year I took a step towards losing the weight that has bogged me down since 2009. I gained a lot of weight after my May 2009 wedding, and seven years later I’ve come face to face with it and decided to make changes for the better, as you can see below.

In 9 weeks I’ve lost 19 pounds and completely changed how I approach food. Although I’m consuming far less pastries and desserts, I still leave room in my days for my fave morning treat… creamy iced coffee.

I’ve tried to cut back on foods with a lot of stuff I can’t pronounce as part of the ingredients, while also not sacrificing flavor for calories. So, when choosing a new creamer to fit my goals and my love of sweet, creamy flavor in my coffee, I chose International Delight’s Simply Pure creamer in the vanilla flavor.

I love the creamer with a good quality dark roast coffee and poured over ice, but recently I’ve actually mixed it with my fave coffee flavored protein powder as a tasty, satisfying breakfast on the go that is less than 200 calories.

I can make my vanilla latte in about 2-minutes flat (which is great because I am always running late and in a rush) and head to work where I am usually working on major projects on tight deadlines. My weekday morning routine consists of getting dressed, checking social media, coaxing Pee Wee to PLEASE go outside, and then making my morning vanilla latte. Since I am also tracking all my food, I usually log my meals for the day on my phone in the morning so I can stay on plan and organized. I like to plan out my days so I can be successful and productive.

On the weekends, I enjoy this recipe as a mid-day pick me up when I’m spending hours blogging in my office (seen below) or lounging on the patio.

Vanilla Protein Latte
Makes 1 Serving (16 oz.)


  • 2 scoops of coffee or vanilla flavored protein powder 
  • 2 tablespoons of Simply Pure Creamer 
  • 1 1/2 cups of ice 
  • 14 ounces of water 

Directions: Mix protein powder and water together until well mixed. Add in creamer. Pour over ice and enjoy! (If you prefer your coffee blended, throw all ingredients into a blender until well blended)

The flavor is sweet, satisfying, and at only 30 calories per tablespoon for the creamer, it fits into my daily lifestyle quite easily. The best part is it has simple ingredients we can all recognize: skim milk, cane sugar, cream.
