I have the flu, can barely function and keep my eyes open so today’s update will be probably be my shortest blog post ever. If you’re coming over from Ariel’s blog, hello!
I tried to paint my chrome lucite pulls- more specifically I tried to paint the chrome part gold. I used my Krylon Paint Pen which was very streaky, and then I used the gold paint from Velvet Finishes and that literally never dried on the metal (makes sense)… so a colossal fail so far. Good news is some hot soapy water took the gold right off, so no big deal.
I think for this project to work I’ll need to spray primer on the chrome parts and then paint them gold but I don’t think that’ll achieve the brushed brass look I want for the pulls using this method either.
Is there some magical gold product I’m not thinking of?
Also, when we were building our house, I desperately wanted to use black and white Spanish look tiles on the bathroom floor, but my husband convinced me I’d hate it eventually and to stick with timeless. He’s 99% right, and I still wish I had them somewhere though.
Then I found this product…peel and stick tiles! I am considering these for the wall behind the mirrors. It’s totally temporary, gives me the look I want, BUT it is a bit pricey. I can’t do the math right now, but it’d be at least $200, I think.
But, I also love this pattern from SmithHonig. It’s so funky. Very boutique hotel-ish, right?
Decisions, decisions. And boy do I have a lot to do in two weeks to get this bathroom refreshed.
