Happy Monday…yay for a 3-day weekend! I’ve had my MacBook Pro for about a month and a half now, and I love it. I use one at work, but hadn’t convinced myself to make the investment to have one for the blog. Now I am wondering why I didn’t buy it sooner.
In case you’re wondering. I ended up buying it at B&H Photo because they had great prices, no sales tax and free expedited shipping. Amazon has awesome prices, too, but sales tax was the main factor for me.
One of my first purchases for my MacBook Pro was my gold glitter case from Embri. I looked at what felt like hundreds of cases, and I ended up choosing one that served my desire for form and function. Plus, it had to be gold.
The reviews online from Embri are mostly positive, but I wanted to write a review that was a bit more detailed. I bought my case during her Black Friday sale, so total I paid $43.10 ($37.60 plus $5.50 in shipping).
Overall, I think the price I paid was fair. Not great, not awful, but fair. I was an Etsy seller for four years, and I had my products featured on HGTV and Martha Stewart Weddings, and I know first-hand how hard it is to sell stuff you make. Charge what you’re worth.
I knocked off a star was how long it took to get my order. I ordered it on Friday, November 27 and I received it on December 16. The seller did send updates stating it could take up to three weeks to produce my order, and I give her props for being honest.
Now here’s where I was really dissatisfied…packaging. My MacBook Pro case came in a bubble wrap envelope. That’s all. It could have very easily been damaged in shipping, and for the price, I truly expected nicer packaging and presentation. But the bottom line is I think the seller could definitely improve on how the products are packaged for shipping. It’s a chance to make a first impression on your customers, and I wasn’t that impressed.
The MacBook Pro case is stunning. It’s sparkly, easily snapped onto my laptop, allows the apple to still be illuminated, and the glitter does not fall off. I don’t know what magic potion is holding the glitter on, but it is not going anywhere. Granted, I do not tote my laptop around much, but I feel confident in saying the glitter isn’t going to flake off.
The bottom piece doesn’t have glitter– it’s clear and provides access to all ports on the MacBook Pro. I cannot express just how sparkly the case is. But the main point is that my MacBook is protected from scratches, so it’ll stay looking like new for a long time. The case is high quality, for sure.
I give this purchase a solid 8 out of 10 stars, and I wouldn’t hesitate to order from Embri again. I would love a case in the rose gold color or black color someday. I think the case really matches with the overall look I have in my office. This case is so ME.
Embri also offers iPad and iPhone cases, and I always think it’s wonderful to support small businesses who create quality items. If you need glitter for your tech, Embri should be one of the first places you shop.
