Happy Friday, my loves! Last week I was fortunate enough to have a sponsored trip to Des Moines to visit Better Homes and Gardens’ headquarters to participate in their Christmas in July event. I’ve been part of the BHG Live Better network for about a year now, and it’s honestly one of my most favorite collaborations ever because I absolutely adore the brand.
The purpose of the trip was to for BHG to showcase their upcoming additions to the Better Homes and Gardens line of products available exclusively at Walmart. I got to see their new children’s line, soft goods (shower curtains, pillows, throws, bedding), spring 2017 outdoor furniture, but most importantly I got to check out their 2016 harvest (fall) and holiday offerings, and let me tell you…they’re AMAZING.
The last time I saw most of the lovely BHG and Walmart reps was at the BHG Live! event in NYC where I got to be on a live internet show (dream come true, read my recap here), and honestly, it is really a honor to get to participate and work alongside these people as a blogger.
The employees from BHG and Walmart LOVE their jobs. It is so evident because they exude this genuine enthusiasm for their work and the products. Their happiness, passion, professionalism and hard work is infectious. I just wanted to give them kudos for being amazing people all around. I love them all (Brad, Toie, Toia, Elise, Wendy, Wende, Kelly, Sarah, Emily, Ashley, Jill, Heather, Max, Eddie and everyone else I met!) It was also fun to meet so many of my blog friends in person.
I wanted to showcase my most favorite items from the new product offerings. Some of these are already available and an affiliate link will be below the photo to take you directly to Walmart.com to buy it, if you wish. If it’s not available, I put a tentative date at the top of the group of photos as to when you can check for it on the web or your local Walmart store.
Let’s get started with the harvest/fall decor. These items should be available beginning September 12.
Better Homes & Gardens: Harvest/Fall Decor
The harvest/fall decor has that traditional vibe with modern touches. There’s a hint of metallic on the pumpkin stems, and the tableware is colorful. I love the feathers on the plates below, and those striped plates give me life. Aren’t they stunning?
Better Homes & Gardens: Children’s Line
I do not have a child, but for those of you who do…get ready. There’s plenty of gorgeous things to buy from this line. There’s super affordable furniture, but there’s also really fun accessories like lamps, pillows, rugs, curtains and much more.
The colors are on trend, products are high quality and your kids will be delighted. Most of this is available right now, so check for links under each photo. If you need me to help locate a link to a product for you that I didn’t include, leave me a note in the comments. Most of the accessories are in the $10-$20 range and the rugs and bedding are $30-$50.
Better Homes & Gardens: Living Room
In addition to letting us check out the upcoming product offerings, the kind folks at BHG/Meredith also let us behind the scenes of three sets where they shoot the beautiful images you see of the products. I am not a professional magazine photographer, so I totally appreciate getting to see how much work, effort, talent and equipment it takes to pull off magazine worthy photos. (And now I don’t feel so bad since I’m a one woman show! Hee hee.)
One of the scenes we checked out was of a living room decked out with fab BHG products. I love the pops of red, the basketweave curtains, throw pillows galore and the beautiful furniture.
The very nice soft goods stylist was sharing her insider tips on making soft goods look luxe in photos. Here she was sharing how a good steam can make curtains hang beautifully, and so can some weights in the corner so they fall properly.
Better Homes & Gardens: Dining Room
The next scene was of a dining table set-up, and I was so smitten with the gorgeous planked wall area that I didn’t get many photos of the rest of the area, sadly. But there’s plenty to see here.
I love all BHG products, but where I feel the brand really shines and is their dining/tableware options. They’re stunning and easy to mix and match.
Rustic Bar Cart (Those gorgeous ombre glasses won’t be available til October 31…sorry!)
Gold/White Toothbrush Holders (Neat idea to use them as a vase!)
Better Homes & Gardens: Bedroom
And the final of the three scenes they had set-up for us involved bedroom furniture/bedding. They had a farmhouse chic vibe going on in here with navy and white. It felt so clean and inviting. Blue is instantly calming in a bedroom, and navy is the hot new neutral.
Better Homes & Gardens: Holiday Decor
I saved my most favorite part for last. I LOVE HOLIDAY DECOR! I mean, I really do. Did you check out my Christmas in July post earlier this week showcasing my holiday decor from previous years? It’s a must see.
The beautiful things you see below will be available on October 31, 2016, so mark your calendars! The line this year has something for everyone– there’s traditional holiday pieces that are swoon worthy, as well as more modern/trendy glassware/tableware/chargers that’ll make your dining room sparkle. Also, the holiday wax warmers, candles, LED candles, and other small decor is beautiful and perfect for gift giving AND decor.
In addition to beautiful tabletop pieces, the holiday/winter throws and blankets will make you want to buy one of each. Plaid lovers- there’s so much for you. Let’s swoon.
Whew. That’s a lot of stuff to cover!
I hope that you’ll find a few things from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart that you have to have in your home. I have a list of about 50 things. My next post as part of the BHG Live Better network is coming up in August, and I’ll be doing my take on modern farmhouse style. I’ve chosen the master bedroom to give the farmhouse treatment to. Farmhouse is a style I love but don’t really have any of in my home, so this will be a challenge.
Be back next week with more pictures from my dining room…I’m making progress!
This post was brought to you by the BHG Live Better Network where, as a blogger, I’ve received compensation by BHG at Walmart to share my ideas and reviews with you.
