Summer Home Tour 2018

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by today for my summer home tour- a huge thanks to Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for wrangling all of us together for this fun week of gorgeous homes!

If you're here from Haneen's Haven, welcome! She has a truly gorgeous and eclectic home- I love her recent ORC makeover.

My home tour is going to consist of a few shots of my kitchen, master bedroom/bathroom, and a tiny glimpse of my in-progress living room. If you follow my blog, you'll know I completed an  office makeover, a dining room makeover, a master bathroom makeover, and a master bedroom makeover in the first 4 months of the year. Since then, I've been taking a break because I am now tackling and saving money for our living room.

Kitchen

My kitchen is truly my favorite spot in my home, and I keep it fairly clean and simple in here. I do love to inject colorful accessories to liven up the space since I do cook fairly often. Our dining nook is super small, but I still try to pack a ton of style into the tiny footprint since it's an open concept space.

Master Bathroom/Bedroom

I worked on my master suite (bathroom and bedroom) this past spring, and I love these spaces so much. The rooms feel classy, timeless and stylish.

Living Room

My living room is truly a mess right now, as is my foyer, which is why I am excluding them from the tour. My new living room rug just came in Tuesday evening, and we rolled it out that same day, which is why the rest of the house is sort of in chaos right now. Whoops.

The living room has been bugging me for awhile because it's kind of a hodge podge of stuff from the old house and stuff from the apartment. It takes time (and money!) to slowly invest in those pieces you really want for a new home, which is essentially where we're at right now. Slowly but surely the room will come together.

Here's a sneak peek at the new rug by Karastan that they generously provided to all of the High Point Marketing spring '18 Design Bloggers Tour folks! It's a custom bound rug (I needed an odd 8x12 size for our space), and we chose the Grace Harbor design since it's simple, modern and transitional.

I cannot even tell you all how plush and cozy this rug is. Plus it hides Pee Wee's dog hair really, really well. I wrote about Karastan in my High Point Market recap, and their rugs are of such high quality and style. I also think their pricing is a great value.

And since I am not showing anymore of the living room, I thought I'd spruce up the bookshelf for the tour:

If I'm lucky, I'll have the living room done by fall, but likely it'll stretch out most of the remainder of 2018. We've lived here almost a year, and I still have a guest room, spare room, foyer, powder bathroom, guest bathroom and backyard patio to tackle. I guess it's kind of fun that the work is never done, but I'm definitely taking my time and enjoying the process.

There's so many other gorgeous homes to see! Check out the full line-up below or head to Laura's over at Duke Manor Farm!
