ORC: Boutique Hotel Master Bedroom Plans

One Room Challenge Master Bedroom Inspiration Board: Boutique hotel vibes with black, white, gold touches and accents.

I've been waiting for this month since we moved into the house about six months ago...the spring 2018 One Room Challenge hosted by Linda from Calling It Home. I've been mentally preparing for this since January, and I'm ready. to. go. Ladies and gents, I present to you my plans for our boutique hotel master bedroom. I just finished up the bright white and gold master bathroom, so it's natural to now work on this to have it all jive.

Much like the master bathroom, I want our bedroom to feel like I'm perpetually living in a boutique hotel. Fun colors, lots of textures, luxe linens, bold decor, and a chic/classy vibe. I think my design board above really brings all that together, but boy is it going to be a lot of work! There's a lot of components that have to come together. Let's delve in angle by angle to discuss details.

White master bedroom with black tray ceiling and tall tufted upholstered headboard.

This is the view from the doorway, and everything but the bed, ceiling fan and roman shades will be leaving the room. This photo is from when we were waiting for our new mattress to get delivered. The accent wall behind the headboard will be adorned with this gorgeous black and gold wallpaper from Tempaper. The other three walls will be staying alabaster white by Sherwin-Williams.

These high-water curtains that I've been using temporary will be replaced with proper length white pleated curtains that I'll be adding black grosgrain ribbon to for a custom look. I'll hang the curtains from a gold curtain rod (or maybe lucite?) with gold curtain clips (like the ones I used here in my office).

Gray roman shades and curtains next to a dog playpen.

Pee Wee's play pen (yup, this is a dog version, not a kid version, and yes, that's a camera so we can watch him while at work!) will need to be relocated to make room for my Lawson leaning mirror provided by Holly & Martin, green Novogratz tufted chair provided by DHP Furniture and this gorgeous brass pharmacy reading lamp provided by Lamps Plus.

Gorgeous black interior doors set against white walls in a master bedroom.

Not much changing from this angle except for some metal print standoffs from Nations Photo Lab between the two black doors.

A bare master bedroom corner that is going to get a makeover.

I'm working on finding a new bench for the front of the bed since the current spotted one is a bit busy, and the IKEA Besta unit with some decorative overlays for the doors will likely become a TV stand to avoid the floating TV look.

My husband really loves fiddle leaf trees, so we'll try to find a good size one for the corner by his nightstand. We're putting these gorgeous Wais mirrors from Holly & Martin above our current nightstands.

A large, tall tufted upholstered headboard is the centerpiece of this master bedroom.

And anchoring the whole space is a simple gray Momeni rug with a Greek key border from the kind folks at Plush Rugs. Some new crystal and brass lamps from Lamps Plus will be a nice contrast and a big dash of glam.

My fave part of decorating is all the details, so I look forward to styling the nightstands and TV stand, plus incorporating some unique art to tie everything together. The most major things I have to accomplish are hanging up the wallpaper and mirrors, and everything else is small enough that I'm not terribly worried about it. I think. I hope.

Next week I hope to have the wallpaper up and a full tutorial for you guys! Keep coming back every Wednesday to see my progress, and the big reveal is set for May 9. This six weeks is going to fly by. You can view the ORC Guest Participants posts from week 1 here.
