$100 Black, White & Botanical Dining Room Reveal

A $100 dining room makeover with gorgeous black, white and gold accents. Love all the botanical and audubon touches.

As soon as I saw the gorgeous daylight the day I took these photos, I was even MORE excited about this $100 Room Challenge (hosted by Lemons, Lavender & Laundry) dining room reveal post. The thrill of getting this done while spending only $95 and using decor I had on hand is amazing. I really am a huge proponent of shopping your home. Dig around in closets, give new life to an item with paint, or simply change up the layout.

Catch up on week 1 | week 2 | week 3 | week 4

I'll ask in advance that if you like anything you see in this post, please share it to Pinterest or your fave social network. Thank you so much! :)

The space was pretty bland when we started right after Christmas. And it’s also fairly small… about 10x12 or so. I think decorating small spaces in a big way is a great idea to add style to your home. Now I think it’s got personality, style and a cozy feeling perfect for small dinner parties. And I love the view from the living room. Love, love, love it.

A small dining space gets a makeover for only $100. It's a black, white, gold and glam makeover.

And the view from the kitchen isn’t bad either.

Black and white striped curtains frame a small dining room space with audubon, floral and botanical decor accents.

I kept the table simple with a large ginger jar holding some faux wisteria bushes. Some casual striped plates paired with gold flatware on a black napkin bring in my signature black, white and gold palette. Those agate napkin holders add a bit of sparkle, as do the gold candlesticks.

I moved the butler tray from the guest room, which is likely not going to see any visitors for months, over to the area in front of the window to create a makeshift margarita bar.

My fave cookbooks make an appearance, as does my lovely gold pineapple ice bucket.

I have this thing with pineapples (you'll see come spring decor season), so I also have these fun pineapple cocktail glasses I had completely forgotten about. They were still in the original box in the back of a closet. See what I mean about shopping your house?

And my bestie gave me this berry colander for Christmas, but for now it’s a swanky way to hold lemons and limes for cocktails.

The gallery wall features free audubon printables in simple black frames. I’ve always had a thing for birds, florals, botanical elements, so I don’t think I’ll get too tired of this anytime soon. And if I do, it’s easy enough to swap artwork.

Eventually we will get a new dining table and chairs, but for now this space is perfect since we tend to eat at the kitchen island most days.

One of my fave finds during this makeover is this giant brass indoor thermometer. It blends into the space nicely.

Gorgeous brass and gold thermometer.

Black and white curtains with gold tassels frame the space and further cement the color palette from the tray ceiling, walls and rug.

To contrast with the black and white, I paired a black and white pillow with a floral one and a palm leaf/ botanical one. The pillows add color, texture and comfort.

Colorful pillows add style and personality to a dining room bench.

Overall, the space is so much better than what it was five weeks ago. And I spent under $100 total (including $20 on the plant in the left corner...I found out Lowe’s has a one year plant return policy, so here’s to hoping I can keep this sucker alive!)
