Thanks to my friends at Minted for providing the curtains, pillow and art print featured in this post. Affiliate links are used in this post- thanks for your support!

This weekend I got a lot done in the house. I got two and a half (one is a wee tree) Christmas trees up and decorated, and I tidied up my office a bit. My office is/was a mess because I've been in the midst of crafting (see my most recent project here), plus I decided to move the console table out of the office and into the foyer for the holidays (or maybe permanently).

Exhibit A:

While I was in the office, I finally was able to put up my new trompe l'oeil fawn curtains from Minted. When I saw them online, I knew they'd be perfect for my blush, fawn and gold feminine office plans. They're unique and bold. Plus I like that they're non-long term committal like fawn wallpaper would be. My tastes change often.

When I took them out of the box, I was initially stunned for a minute or so because I thought they were fuzzy. Then I realized it's just that they're that detailed/high quality of a print that it looks real.

I was also concerned they'd be too light/sheer, but they are definitely not. They're a heavy cotton and they beautifully filter light, but more on that later.

They have a rod pocket, but I wanted to use my gold curtain rings since I love the pleated effect they give once hung. I wrote a blog post about using and spacing curtain rings, but for this panel I had spaced the rings three inches apart. I like a lot of pleats, what can I say?

BUT. The curtain rings I had on hand were too small for my beefy curtain rod, so rod pocket it is for now. I'll have to order some brass 1.5" curtain rings, note to self.

We slid these beauties on, and I used my steamer to get out the creases. Took me about 15 minutes total to get the creases out- easy peasy. We put these up late Sunday night, and Monday morning before I left to work I was able to see how they look with the sun beaming in. The sun is brightest in this room in the morning, and when I closed the curtains, you can still see the pattern (it doesn't get washed out) yet the light that comes in is softer, yet bright. Absolutely perfect for what I am usually doing in my office. The added privacy factor is great, too.

I love the way they hang. They also add some pattern and interest to the space, which truthfully has a lot of white going on right now.

Since I only got a pair of these, I'll fill in the rest of the window with some simple white/blush sheers. Maybe I'll find some with subtle metallic threads or something.

To coordinate the look, I also got a small lumbar pillow in the same fabric. I still haven't found the perfect office chair yet, but at least I'll have a fluffy and stylish pillow for my lower back. The pillow form from Minted is high quality-- fluffy, soft yet supportive and fills out the pillow cover perfectly.

I also ordered this foil art print. The "pink" turned out to be more "lavender" once I got it in person (whoops!), but I think it'll still add a classy touch to the space. I'm on the prowl for a brass frame to put it in. It's hard to photograph the "foil" but it's gold and shiny, I pinky promise.

And for now, this is what my office looks like. My closet in this space is a total mess, so I'll make some time to organize it later this week when I'm off from work. I have some snazzy gold baskets to make use of, so I'll definitely show you all a before and after once it's done.

After that, I need to find a credenza for storage/my big gold printer, decide on an accent wall treatment, and possibly find a bigger desk or a folding craft table. Either way, I need a few more things to make the space truly productive in 2018. Oh and I'm also looking for a blush pink velvet bench for Pee Wee to perch on to see out the windows.

But these curtains? Perfection! One of my most fave Minted finds to date. Totally fits my vision board, right?

Do you have any ideas for a credenza or storage solution?
I want to keep my items organized and tidy!
