Sparkly Chandeliers & My Dream Kitchen

The final chandeliers were finally installed.

And now prepare yourself for way too many photos of my crystal chandeliers. A quick note-- it is the exact same chandelier in the foyer and the dining room due to a shipping mishap. Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you.

Here's when you walk in the front door...

Just. Look. At. It.

And here she is in the dining area.

These chandeliers I bought online for about $400 each with a 10% coupon from the USPS Movers Guide. They've since shot up to $700. I hesitate to say this because I know $700 is a lot, heck even $400 is a lot...but they are worth it. The crystals are gorgeous and high quality-- like nothing I've had before.

You can find the chandeliers online at these retailers:

Our home inspection was today, which means closing day is coming up soon! The kitchen is very nearly done, and today the grates were put on and vent hood is in... it's so irresistibly gorgeous. It is my dream kitchen, and I am so very thankful.

The backsplash is beautiful, and the platinum colored grout is the perfect neutral gray to tie in the tones from the fantasy brown marble/granite countertops. I know the kitchen seems a bit "cold" right now, but I think once I bring in my MacKenzie-Childs canisters and a few other warm gold/rose gold accessories, the kitchen will come alive.

I really wanted a decorative vent hood, and the carpenter knocked it out of the park with his beautiful work.

And as you can see, the lucite pulls pretty much "float" and blend in. Just what I wanted.

The island is beefy, and the movement in the countertops gives it interest and warmth. Today our inspector ran the dishwasher and I could barely hear it running. Currently in the apartment, if we're running the dishwasher, we have to blast our TV to hear it over the roar of dishwasher. (The hole in the granite in the pic below is where a garbage disposal "button" will go.)

Once we get moved in, and I'll do a super detailed post with a review of everything we used for our kitchen. I've mentioned elements of it separately (lighting, floor/backsplash tile, cabinet hardware) but I know many of you have reached out curious about the faucet, sink, appliances, under cabinet lights, and how we like things.

Totally want to answer all of your burning questions because I consider all of my readers virtual friends, so hang tight while we get moved in and "live" in the space for a bit for a more thorough review on stuff. But so far, we love it all.

This whole building process has flown by, but it'll be fun to move forward onto decorating and getting settled. If you have any questions, you can always email me or drop me a comment below the post.

Have a fabulous and safe weekend! xo.
