Sorry for my hiatus but I needed to put things on a pause to focus on family and life. I couldn’t cope with trying to work full time, helping out with family duties, managing my feelings after every This Is Us episode, and blogging. It happens.
I cannot thank you all enough for the sweet comments and messages about my father-in-law. He’s doing as well as can be expected given the situation, and he’s down to his last 6 radiation treatments and 1 more chemo session. After that he’ll get to rest and build his strength back up and the fabulous team of doctors will assess what comes next. We’re staying positive and thankful for every day we get to be on this beautiful earth.
Daniel also got a wonderful new job and I couldn’t be prouder of him. Corpus Christi will be home for a long while, and we are officially in the 6 month countdown to end this year of apartment living. The first part was totally cool because I had zero neighbors, and now that I have people running a bowling alley at 3 a.m. (allegedly) above my apartment I feel a heck of a lot different. I hope to not do another major move for awhile, but I do know I won’t ever do this apartment nonsense if it means I’ll have neighbors above me. All the nopes!
And truthfully I try not to get overly personal on here because I know that’s not what you all come here for…but my mental health is an issue. I’m really struggling with anxiety and haven’t fully adjusted to my new normal. My birthday on March 8 was probably the roughest and saddest day of the whole darn year, and that’s because I ended up in bed crying at 8 pm and fell asleep. I feel a bit better now and am taking steps to get the assistance I need to be a happier person.
I'm also really struggling with misophonia, especially at work thanks to cubicle life (whomp, whomp), and I just wish I wasn't so darn weird.
I’ll be back to 2 posts a week starting next week. Some of the posts that are in the works are how to style a functional bar cart for an apartment or small space, an update on my Weight Watchers journey (hint: I do not look like JLo yet), a <100 calorie skinny margarita that will knock your socks off, some house hunting stuff, and why we ultimately decided NOT to build a house with a builder. There will also be a post on my 25 favorite spring décor accessories under $50, and some more home décor tips and solutions for renters.
Hugs to each of you and thanks for reading. xo.
