Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind Review for Senior Dogs (7+)

Pee Wee says hi, y'all! Now, I know I promised an agate DIY project and a kitchen update, but this week has been nuts. It's like my good intentions leave the building as soon as I get home from a long day at work. I want to DIY and blog, but my body wants to lounge and go to bed at 9 pm. I am living off coffee, miracles, and granola bars.

To make up for a lack of DIY and crafty posts, I bring you Pee Wee. My little ten year-old bundle of dog hair, feistyness, and spunk. I love him to pieces. I wrote about transitioning him over to the Purina ProPlan Bright Mind food for 30 days. Pee Wee LOVED the food as you can see in this post and video (and below).

The basic premise of the food is that it helps senior dogs age 7+ remember their old tricks by improving their glucose metabolism in the brain. This helps potentially improve their memory, learning, awareness or decision making skills using botanical oils. If you want to try out the Purina Bright Mind food, there's a special deal happening at PetSmart--  if you spend $10 on any Purina ProPlan Dry Dog or Cat Food* at PetSmart between 8/31 and 10/4, you can save $10 on your next Purina ProPlan Dry Food purchase, 14-lb. or more, on or before 11/1.

Pee Wee's days are glorious, and using a Go Pro I created a quick 1-minute video showing a day in the life of Pee Wee. Doesn't he look ADORBS in the harness with the Go Pro on his back? Love it.

I'm totally jealous of his permanent vacation lifestyle, but I love that he has a happy life. Check it out for yourself (and get a sneak peek of the guest room makeover):

Now that the 30 days are over, I feel I can give you an honest review. For starters, taste was never an issue because Pee Wee loved the food. He's a PICKY eater, like his mom, so this was truly miraculous. We didn't see any super noticeable improvements, but we were happy he liked the taste and ate the food with gusto.

Like I mentioned in the initial post, he did seem more interested in his toys, so that to us was a great thing we noticed. Thirty days is a short period of time, so maybe with a longer trial we'd see more improvements.

I now leave you with this cute photo of Pee Wee after a long day of Go Pro video shooting. He's usually not allowed in the guest room, but I made an exception since he was such a trooper.

I'm always talking about my pet, but I'd love to hear about yours! What kind of animals do you all have? Anyone else have senior dogs?

And now I pinky promise to get back to DIY posts and home inspiration posts after I take this weekend off from all work (both my 8-5 job AND the blog). I need a break- I have a lot of projects I've been simultaneously working on every weekend that will end up here soon! TGIF. xoxo!
