Fab Fridays: Black Accent Walls

Welcome to today's Fab Friday in which I lush over my latest trendspotting obsession every other Friday. On the agenda today...black walls. Whether you love 'em or hate 'em, you have to admit they catch your eye. Drama.

I have a dark gray peppercorn wall in my home office, but I really am itching to do a true black color somewhere soon. Perhaps the ceiling in the hall bathroom? The two images below really convince me that it needs to happen:

I personally think a black ceiling looks simply marvelous and classy when paired with crisp white walls and minimal decor. Although the damask and glam works, too, as seen above.

Besides a black ceiling, I think a black wall in the bedroom would be uber chic and sexy when paired with my tall tufted headboard. I've lived with the striped walls since summer 2012, and I think it might be time for a change to the boudoir. My husband probably will not be happy since it'd mean helping me move the furniture. Sorry, D!

And finally, a matte black dining room would serve as the perfect backdrop for my Aldridge dining table from Home Decorators. The dining room is currently very beige, and the tricorn paint color from Sherwin Williams is calling my name.

Are black walls a design DO or a design DON'T? Sound off in the comments.

Have a happy Friday and a SAFE July 4th holiday! I'll be back on Monday with some deets about my fall 2015 decor ideas. I know it's early, but these 90 degree temps have me daydreaming of boots and sweater coats. And pumpkins...gotta have pumpkins! xoxo.

  1. Oh I love the idea of a black wall. I think my bathroom needs one and maybe a stencil too. I can't wait to see your fall ideas.

    1. Thanks, Marty! I think a stencil is a great idea. There's one from Royal Design Studio I've been eyeing after I saw your closet reveal. You're house is gorgeous!
