The hubby and I both work at the same employer, and right now things are absolutely hectic. He’s in the middle of a big audit, and I’m in the midst of 8 billion projects on a tight deadline. We’re working on weekends, late on weekdays, and so having a convenient meal at home is really important to us. I’m trying to eat out less so I can control portions, so I rely on quick, fresh meals and ingredients from Walmart. I know that if I park on the grocery side of my Walmart Supercenter, I have super quick and easy access to the Walmart Bakery, deli, produce, and meat section since they’re all right at the front of the store. I don’t need to go any further into the store if I don’t want to, because almost everything I need for a delicious dinner and dessert is right there. Plus, our local Walmart just installed self-checkout, which I love when I am just grabbing a few items.
For a good dinner at home, I tend to grab some steaks and a veggie like asparagus or broccoli. I know it’s quick, delicious, and fresh. I can never resist a stroll through the Walmart Bakery though—they have freshly baked cookies, rolls, cakes, and pies. Daniel’s favorite pie is their caramel apple pie. It’s a delicious apple pie topped with ribbons of creamy caramel. It is to die for. My favorite part is the apples. They have a sweet, yet tart taste, like a true apple pie. It’s not overly sweet, and the crust is amazing. This pie is a real crowd pleaser, trust me. Sundays are my splurge dinner day, and this is well worth the splurge.
They even have a little freezer near the pies with plenty of Reddi Whip ready for you to take home (and using Reddi Whip can make anyone feel like a pastry chef thanks to the fancy tip!)
Ya can’t beat the Walmart Bakery in terms of price and convenience when needing something fresh and delicious to accompany meals. The hubby and I also highly recommend the French bread and the pepperoni cheese loaf. Nom nom nom. They are the perfect canvas for tasty sandwiches for game days or lunches. Or you could just pick up a pie, slice yourself a piece, and thank me profusely. :)
Do you ever purchase products from the Walmart Bakery? I highly recommend them, especially during the holiday season, to make your meals easier and a little less stressful.
