I’m Headed to BlogHer! {Conferences}

image

I seriously didn’t think this day would ever come. I remember seeing the 20% off discount code for BlogHer 2011 back in December, and I flip-flopped back and forth on whether or not to take the plunge.

And I did.

I also swore I’d be stick thin and totally smokin’ hot by August, and I am not. I am actually only 17 pounds less than what I weighed in December which shows how utterly hopeless this whole “Get to goal weight in 2011” thing is going for me. Oh well. Skinny or chunky, I’m the same Monica. The same crazy gal.

Man I really wish I would have lose weight because honestly, I am feeling really insecure about my weight/size There are going to be a bajillion people taking pictures and doing recap posts, and I don’t want to be praying that people Photoshop me to look thinner and more fabulous.

Weight, why must you weigh on my mind so heavily? <--- Pun definitely intended.

Within the next 24 hours, I need to get the negative out of my mind, because honestly do people really go around judging people based on looks? I mean, we all do to an extent, but I am hoping someone realizes how kick ass I am despite my fluffyness. Insecurities and negative self-thoughts need to stay here, at home in Beeville. As a first time attendee I keep thinking I’ll be all by my lonesome, and no one will want to hang with me and generally feeling like a 16-year-old girl.

Then I stop and think about my schedule at BlogHer, and I realize that is not the case at all. That’s why I want to assure all the newbs (like me) that really, we’re stressing far too much about this and we’ll all be ok.

Truly, we will.

I know I post sporadically on here lately (mostly because I tweet so darn much…truly, it’s obscene), but I do have some posts scheduled for this week while I am gone. If you’re going to the conference and want to meet up with me, here’s a general idea of what I’ll be doing. Please know, I’d absolutely love to meet any of my readers/tweeters/followers that want to meet me. I WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU! Please do not be afraid of contacting me if you’d like to meet up, or e-mail me if you’d like my cell number to find me while in San Diego.

Thursday:

Arrive at 4 pm or so, head over to the Marriott and go to the Expo Hall. During the evening, I will be at the Clever Girls Party and maybe I’ll swing by the People’s Party.

Friday:

BlogHer 5K in the morning (first 5K ever!), followed by sessions during the day (need to figure out which ones…) and then I’ll be Carolyn’s date to the Cheap Sally Dance Party! And I must, must, must make it to Sparklecorn.

Saturday:

Workout with Bob Harper (HELL YES!!!), followed by the Quaker Oats Breakfast, sessions during the day, and then maybe hit up the Softcup Party w/Mario Lopez and hopefully Social Fiesta and the Aiming Low parties. Saturday my schedule is pretty open, so if you’d like to meet up, please let me know. Truly. I beg. Oh and this is the day I’ll probably make my way to World Market to find my darn curtains. Yes, still trying to find curtains.

Sunday:

Sleep in! At this point I would have gotten up around 5 am on Friday & Saturday, so Sunday I’d like to sleep a bit. And perhaps eat somewhere yummy for breakfast before I head home. Sad face.

What is your schedule like for BlogHer? I can’t imagine what the super popular bloggers schedule is like if I think mine is so busy and jam packed.

San Diego, here I come!
