Weight Watchers {Week 4}

Alright, no long, drawn out business here today. I did that week 2.

I am up 0.8 pounds.

I expected this since Wednesday since I was up about a pound then, too.

Not upset about it, though I will say it’s of course not what I wanted to see on the scale. Bottom line is that in about a month of doing Weight Watchers, I have lost a total of 4.4 pounds, which is about a pound a week. That’s average and good. Hey, if I do that for a year I’ll be down about 48 pounds. That’s nothing to be sad about, right?

It was also my first week doing PointsPlus (new plan by Weight Watchers). I feel if I am remotely critical about the new program, I will get slammed on my blog with people telling me I should trust Weight Watchers. Which is fine, but I don’t feel like trying to defend why I do/don’t like the plan or why I feel like if a banana is 120 calories, it SHOULD BE 2 points. Blasphemous, I know. I guess as someone who tried to naturally reach for fruits as snacks rather than 100 calorie packs, the zero point fruit thing doesn’t make me want to sing its praises from the roof tops. And, no, it’s not that I am afraid of change. If I was afraid of change, why would I be on a lifestyle change and trying to do fun, new things as exercise?

I just don’t like complicated stuff, and I feel it’s complicated.

This week, I am going to do what I feel works for me. Might be PointsPlus, might be normal Weight Watchers, might be 2002 version of Weight Watchers, might be intuitive eating. You’ll have to come back next week to find out.

I am also going to increase my exercise and add something to my workouts. Maybe some weights… maybe some higher intensity. Or both.

Also, need to cut back on the diet soda consumption.

Basically, I know there’s always room for improvement, so onto week 5 I go. Week 4 will not define me.

The scale can kiss my butt this week.

Week 4 Weight Loss: +0.8  pounds

Total Weight Loss to Date: 4.4 pounds

Week 3 Exercise Minutes= 90 minutes

Total Exercise Minutes to Date*= 436 minutes

*=These numbers represent a cumulative total

Weight Watchers Virtual Bank Balance= $110.00 ($40 from weight loss, $70 from exercise)

Off to garage sales I go! I want a table to so I can do this to my breakfast nook:

  1. Anything new will take some getting used to. I'm glad that WW is working for you - I swear it's the one diet I never tried!

    Keep doing what you are doing, getting your exercise in and watching what you are eating - and the scale will follow :)

    When you work out, are you going to the gym? If I were you, an easy way to maximize your time at the gym is through fitness classes. They work really well for all levels, from gym newbies to athletes. If you have questions, Facebook or e-mail me, I'd be happy to give you some suggestions. :)

  3. different things work for different people. and i'm sure for those who struggle with getting real foods in their diet this new system could be helpful.

    i'm just a straight calorie counter though. no WW at all. just me, my computer, and livestrong.com. :P one thing i've learned is that while a calorie is a calorie...a good one will take you so much further.

  4. Don't get down. That .8 could infect be muscle from your exercise. Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat - and keep your chin up :)
